HOW TO DO THE 70'S:

The 70's style is all over the catwalk for this summers trends and what better way to do it then making and customizing outfits!?

I recently made this suede fringed jacket as I couldn't find one anywhere on high street stores BUT when I made this I realised I don't wanna shop at high streets anymore!

Everyone wears the same clothes and going to party wearing the same sequinned dress as the girl skinnier than you isn't the best confidence boost.

So, I decided for Little Miss Retro's newest venture is modernized vintage and catwalk trends!

I hope you like this!

Little Miss Retro:

Suede Fringed Jacket teamed with the denim shirt.

This season is all about the wide leg maxi trousers from floral to spotty it doesn't matter about the pattern as long as your wearing them full length and high waisted!

I have to admit I haven't stop wearing mine and there one of those comfortable trends that look and feel amazing.

I styled this with my cream crochet top (inspired by roberto cavalli's S/S 11 collection) and a fringed necklace and feather earrings finished with the classic summer 'must-have' gladiator sandels.

Accesories:

Boho inspired and hippy.

Gold bangles

Feathered earrings.

Wooden coloured bead necklaces

Gypsy coined bracelets

Skinny brown belts

The floppy hat is a must-have for this summer!

Clothing:

Tassells/fringed

Crochet

Leather (Lots of white E.g Ralph Lauren)

Double Denim is back

Aztec and tribal prints

Large floral prints (D&G)

Fruity prints (stella mccartney)

Floaty chiffons maxi dresses

Shoes:

Ribbon tie wedges (etro & Dior)

Suede & Leather heels and boots

Sandels

The flatform: Flat platforms (chloe, muiccia prada)

Bags:

Canvas Backpacks (world traveler style)

Luxe brown leather bag, tasselled

The black leather satchel

Picture printed tote (Anya Hindmarch)

Hope this helps you with your 70's summer shopping!

See you next week!

MUI MUI SPRING/SUMMER '11 COLLECTION (had to be in capitals cause its beautiful!)

Here's a scrumptious taster of mui mui's collection.

I gotta express my love for the oversized leather jackets, with a few solid block colours perfectly shown effortlessly on it.

Spring is showing a lot of 70's pleats and this collection with over knee length dresses. This beautiful satin red dress is the ultimate LRD (long red dress).

The 60's inspiration of block colours are shown within this lustrous dress, again with the repeatition of pleats stating a fashion trend for this spring and summer.

With the intricate and detailed neckline and resting loosely on the shoulders this shows how spring/summer should be. Time to get those arms and legs back out for these feminine designs.

Just for the record, I love fashion and style, which are two very different things....

Okay, So firstly where I live in the UK I feel pretty cool expressing myself individually and most importantly differently than too other people. One of the many things i have willingly learnt from 'Luella's guide to Englsih style'. I have read exactly 35 pages out of 362 and Luella KNOWS what she is talking about which has inspired me soo much in just one day!
I admit I am a fashion obsessed and LOVE to follow trends BUT when I see another person wear the same style clothing as me I ditch it. I like to be the first to wear something on trend, if not i carry on with my style and shop for future trends or just the vintage style that I truly love and not because someone else likes it. I never ask for someones opinion apart from my own and ok my mum but we just know. :)

But since reading Luella's book (not a guide as she clearly states in the intro) aha i have been influenced and inspired to throw out my whole wardrobe and decide to make my own clothes! Although, i will keep the ever so edgy leather skirt and the grunge rock tee, but those are the essentials of a style identitty wardrobe.

So keep being different! It's what makes you amazing, always remember that :D

An item each week...for years and years to come!

I've recently started a weekly sewing course with my mum!
It's really great and we basically choose a project and make it in that week or over the following weeks. So when i have finished the item of clothing which i've designed i will post pictures up of it and me modelling it. Also the process of me making my fashion piece.

Lots of love,
